Natick’s Veterans’ Storywalk

Honoring veterans and their service to our country

From November 5-12th,2025, the Natick Town Common will host an interactive exhibit of veteran stories and experiences, otherwise known as a Storywalk.

Through a series of signs lining the Common’s sidewalks, the Veterans’ Storywalk will highlight a sampling of the many stories collected by the Morse Institute Library’s Veterans’ Oral History Project.

The Veterans Oral History Project at the Morse Institute Library has archived over 360 stories from both veterans and those who served in a homefront capacity during our nation’s conflicts. During this weeklong exhibit, the community is invited to discover the wealth of information available in these recorded histories. Using the QR codes on each sign, visitors can watch each veteran’s oral history video.

The mission of the Veterans Oral History Project is to collect and preserve the personal recollections of those men and women who have served their country in the armed forces past and present. The focus is on firsthand accounts of veterans from WWII through the more recent Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts. Additionally, other Massachusetts residents who have peacetime or homefront experience are invited to share their stories, along with members of foreign armed forces.

The Natick Veterans Oral History Project is an important part of the library’s mission to inspire minds, enrich lives, enable learning, and foster connections throughout our community.  With the ongoing support of local organizations and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, all those who served are welcome to set up an interview and preserve their stories.
