U.S. Navy 1943–1946

 

Edward Brennan, who was born and raised in Natick, enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and trained as a pharmacists mate. He served on the USS La Prade, a destroyer escort, in the Pacific Theater, including Guam, Saipan, the Marshall Islands and Okinawa. He saw the destruction of Nagasaki shortly after the atomic bomb drop.
