Since childhood John Linehan wanted to be in the military. While at Maine’s Bates College, he was accepted at Annapolis but due to eyesight issues, received a medical discharge. He promptly enlisted in the Army. While with the 82nd Airborne Division he witnessed the liberation of Ludwigslust concentration camp in Germany and recalls to this day the conditions they encountered. After the war he was the Deputy Inspector General for the 92nd Airborne and then stationed in Korea with the 32nd Division. As a civilian John has a long history with the fishing industry which brought him to Washington and to Korea as an advisor.
