Samuel P. Calomo Sr.

Sam Calomo Sr. was drafted into the Army in 1967. He trained as a combat medic, and was sent to Vietnam in 1968. He was part of the 199^th Light Infantry Brigade, known as the “Red Catchers.” Calomo would often be in the middle of fighting, and remembered trying to treat a soldier mortally wounded by a mine. He served in Vietnam until November 1969, and would receive an Army Commendation Medal.

Sam Calomo is a member of Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the VFW.
