U.S. Air Force 1939–1945

 

Discusses Mr. Donovan’s Air Force service with the 384th Bomb Group as a bomber pilot in Europe during World War II. On Feb. 25, 1944, Mr. Donovan was shot down over Stuttgart and held prisoner at Stalag Luft I until he was liberated by the Russians in May 1945.
