U.S. Navy 1941–1945
Ronald Brodrick grew up on a farm in Nebraska; while attending graduate school in Boston, he joined the Navy and had flight training at the Naval Air Station at Squantum in Quincy. He joined the VP91 squadron flying PBY seaplanes in the western Pacific, doing everything from reconnaissance to rescue missions around Guadalcanal, the Solomons and the New Hebrides Islands.
